The National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalitions (NASPCC) is a network of state coalitions, and groups and individuals interested in forming state coalitions. We support one another and the men and families of our states by advocating for high quality benchmarks such as patient education and multidisciplinary care.
As a member of the Prostate Cancer Roundtable, we work with our colleagues throughout the nation to develop and support legislation that will improve the lives of those impacted by prostate cancer.
"NASPCC supports the early detection of prostate cancer in recommending that, beginning at age 40 (35 for high-risk men, including African-American men and those with a certain or an indeterminate family history of prostate cancer) men obtain a baseline PSA and have a DRE; and thereafter have a PSA and DRE on an annual basis. An increase in PSA can be more important for men than the PSA number itself, and should be discussed with their physician."
